  • 1 cup Uncooked Quinoa
  • 2 cup Water boiled
  • Salt optional

Instructions

  • Start by rinsing your quinoa thoroughly in a fine mesh strainer under running water. This step is necessary to remove the bitter tasting saponin from quinoa.
  • In a saucepan, heat the olive oil. Then add the quinoa and toast over medium heat. Stir Constantly till the quinoa is golden brown and smells nutty.

  • Add the boiled water to the saucepan. Cook uncovered on medium heat till all the water is absorbed, for about 15 minutes.

  • Remove the pot from heat, cover and let stand for 5 minutes. Quinoa is done when the tiny spiral (the germ) separates and curls around the seed.
    Enjoy quinoa in salads or soups.
