Easy and Quick Cheese Stuffed Puff Pastry (Boreks)
Mediterranean cheese stuffed puff pastry/ borek/ cheese turnovers is a delight. This is the easiest, quickest and most delicious side dish/ appetizer you can prepare. All you need is only 5 ingredients and one of them is optional.
Each bite is a piece of heaven. The combination of the crispy flaky crust and the soft cheese with mint is just marvelous. I prepared it with whole wheat sheets and light cheese to indulge guilt-free.
Easy and Quick Cheese Stuffed Puff Pastry (Boreks)

Materials
- 10 sheets Whole Wheat Puff Pastry thawed
- 200 g Light creamy Feta cheese
- 2 tbsp Dried peppermint leaves
- 1 tbsp Olive oil + 1 tsp
- 1 tbsp Sesame seeds optional
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 200°C.Prepare your ingredients.
- In a medium bowl, crumble the cheese using a fork then add the peppermint and 1 tsp olive oil. Stir well to combine.
- Place a heaping teaspoon of the cheese mixture in the center of each square. Fold pastry over the filling, and seal edges with a fork.
- Transfer to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.Brush with olive oil.
- sprinkle with sesame seeds if desired.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes, or until golden brown. Serve immediately.
